Collection Page

Everything a single Collection holds, section by section.

This is the page for a single Collection. It holds the Cards inside it, and the Details each Card shares.

The Collection’s name is at the top of the page. To the far right you will see a button with 3 dots:

Collection actions

This will show a menu with 2 options:

  • Edit Collection name
  • Move to the Trash Bin (this puts the Collection, and every Card in it, into the Trash Bin)

Below that are two sections: the list of Details every Card here shares, and the Cards themselves.

Editing a Collection

Editing gives the option to change the Collection’s name. The Cards inside are untouched, and so are the shared Details.

Details

Details are the way you decide the type of information every Card in this Collection will track.

Every Card in the Collection gets the detail type. That means Cards that are in the Collection when the Detail is added (and any Cards added later) get the empty Detail line. You can then fill the Detail on each Card with that Card’s specific info. To get more information on this, use the following link: Details.

Removing a Detail takes it off every Card in the Collection, including all histories for every Card.

Cards

Every Card in this Collection is listed here. You can add more Cards to this Collection in two ways:

Add existing Cards

Create a Card

There’s more information in the “Add Existing Cards Dialog” and “Create a Card Dialog” sections later in this Handbook entry.

If you have many Cards in your Collection, you can use the search field:

Search by name

You can view the Cards in a grid or a table.

View

In the table view, each row has a checkbox to select Cards. When you select, you can use the row of actions below the table to:

  • Add a Record to the Cards you selected
  • Add a Reminder to the selected Cards
  • Manage the Tags set for the Cards, or
  • Delete the Cards you selected (this sends them to the Trash Bin)

Add Existing Cards Dialog

Here you can add any number of Cards, and when you use the button:

Add these Cards

every Card you add is added to your Collection.

Note: A Card can only belong to one Collection at a time, so Cards you’ve chosen here will be removed from their old Collection (if they belonged to one). All Cards that get moved retain all their information, including Details, which will be added as empty Details to every Card in the new Collection (so that no info is lost).

Create a Card Dialog

When you create a Card on your Collection page, it is automatically added to the Collection.

Enter the name for your new Card. Every Card must have a name, and that name must include either a letter or a number.

Optionally, you can set a color from the presets:

Or you can set a custom color:

If you choose not to set a color and/or pattern, we will assign a random color and/or a random pattern.
